PRESS RELEASE Samsonite Europe chooses OMP Plus for integrated Demand Planning, Supply Planning and Budgeting
![]() Samsonite has selected OMP Plus from OM Partners to support its integrated Demand, Supply Planning and Budgeting process for all European product lines. A team consisting of 4 central demand planners and 15 collaborative country managers will work together to create a consensus forecast. On an ongoing basis, the central planners manage the demand planning process, using statistical forecasting techniques, Product Life Cycle and Promotion Management functionality combined with interactive forecasting methodologies. To increase forecasting accuracy, collaborative users across Samsonite’s main sales markets will participate on-line. The resulting consensus forecast is seamlessly integrated in supply and distribution planning, already in use in OMP Plus for several years at Samsonite Europe. OMP Plus is also used to create a consistent business plan for the next 12 months. Until now, this was a very tedious and time-consuming process, which is improved by allowing users from Demand Planning and Finance to work on different aggregation levels and cooperatively determine the budget volumes, sales revenues and price-cost margins. Gert Weyers, Vice President Marketing at Samsonite Europe, says: “We were looking for an advanced but easy-to-use demand planning solution in order to support our collaborative forecasting process. The objective is to improve our forecasting accuracy, which will lead to lower inventories and will maximize customer service and overall profitability.
