As an extension of an earlier worldwide S&OP implementation, Solutia teamed up again with OM Partners to implement and roll-out a multi site operational planning for its Advanced Interlayers business. This business presents a challenging environment regarding supply chain complexity (8 plants worldwide and 25 distribution centers, 7000 SKUs with extensive substitution possibilities and customer qualifications, etc.).

In order to provide fast and reliable responses to customers, OM Partners provided an integrated OMP Plus application allowing for a complex order allocation dynamically linked to the campaign and replenishment plan.

This innovative project led to a revolutionary integration of Master Planning, Campaign Planning, Material Allocation, Detailed Scheduling and Cut Sheet Planning within one OMP Plus application. Also, connections were made to SAP as the standard ERP solution using the certified OMP Integrator for SAP.

The application first went live in Europe, allowing planners to have full transparency on the worldwide supply chain and to efficiently manage 3000 orders in parallel.

Then, roll-outs were done to North America and Asia by Solutia’s core competence team (2FTEs). This was realized with limited support of OM Partners thanks to the application's flexible design.
